BTS tote bag: how to choose one you will carry every day

5 min read

A good BTS tote bag is first of all a good bag: big enough for what you carry, in a fabric that holds its shape, with handles or a strap that suit how you move. Check the measurements in centimetres against an A4 folder or your laptop, then choose one clear BTS reference, a song, an era or your bias, so the bag works at university, at work and at a fan event.

Why a tote is the most worn piece of fan merch

A hoodie lives in your wardrobe for half the year. A tote bag comes out every day: to class, to the office, to the supermarket, to the cinema for a BTS screening. That makes it the piece other ARMY are most likely to spot on the train, and the one that has to work hardest.

It also explains why so many fan totes end up forgotten in a drawer. A cute print on a thin, floppy bag looks great in a photo and loses its charm the first time it carries a laptop in the rain. If you want a BTS tote bag you will still use next year, think like someone buying a bag, and only then like a fan.

Size: measure what you carry before you fall in love

Tote sizes are usually listed as width by height by depth, in centimetres. Before you order, lay out what you carry on a normal day and measure it. A few reference points help:

  • An A4 sheet is 21 x 29.7 cm, so a bag around 30 cm wide or more takes folders and notebooks without bending them.
  • Laptops vary a lot: measure yours, including the case, and leave at least a couple of centimetres of margin.
  • Depth decides whether a water bottle, a lunch box or a jumper fits. Around 8 or 9 cm is enough for daily essentials; more depth means more volume but a bulkier bag.
  • If you mainly carry a phone, keys and a card holder, a crossbody bag may serve you better than a tote.

Fabric, handles and the details that make it last

Thin cotton totes are light and cheap, but they crease and stretch. Sturdier fabrics such as polyester or corduroy keep their shape better and are easier to keep clean, which matters for a bag that gets put down on floors and train seats. Embroidery also ages better than a print: it does not crack or fade in the same way, and the raised thread gives the design some texture.

Then look at how you will carry it. Short handles are made for the hand or the forearm; longer handles or an adjustable strap go over the shoulder and leave your hands free. Inside pockets are worth a lot more than they seem, because they stop your keys and earphones from sinking to the bottom. And if you travel on crowded public transport, a zip closure is a real plus.

Choosing the reference: song, era or bias

The best fan bags carry one clear idea. A song title is the most discreet option: to most people it looks like a nice phrase, to ARMY it is an instant connection. An era or an album, like the Arirang year in 2026, works for the fan who follows the group as a whole. A design linked to one member is the boldest choice and the most personal, perfect if you are buying for someone with a very clear bias.

If the bag is a gift and you are unsure, a reference to all seven is the safest bet, or a song the person has talked about recently. Avoid fake official logos: a well-made fanmade design is honest about what it is and usually far more original.

Tote or crossbody for concerts and events

For everyday life, a tote is hard to beat. For a concert, things change. Many venues limit the size of the bags you can bring in and check them at the entrance, and in the crowd a large tote gets in the way. Always read the rules published by your venue before the day.

A smaller crossbody bag with an adjustable strap, worn across the body, keeps your phone, ID, ticket and a power bank close and leaves your hands free for the lightstick. Many fans bring both: the tote for the long day in the city, left at the hotel or with a friend, and the crossbody for the show.

Care, timing and shipping

Embroidered bags generally last longer if you spot-clean them with a damp cloth instead of putting them in the washing machine, and if you avoid overloading the handles every day. Empty the bag from time to time and let it dry flat if it gets wet.

Each piece is ready in about 7 days from payment confirmation, plus the courier time you choose at checkout, to your door or a pickup point. We ship worldwide; shipping is free in Italy over €89 and in the European Union over €119 of products, with no free shipping outside the EU. FAQ

What size should a BTS tote bag be for university?

At least 30 cm wide, so A4 folders fit flat, with around 8 to 9 cm of depth for a bottle and a notebook. Measure your laptop before ordering.

Can I bring a tote bag to a BTS concert?

It depends on the venue: many limit bag sizes. Check the official venue rules; a small crossbody bag is usually the easier choice.

How do I clean an embroidered tote bag?

In general, spot-cleaning with a damp cloth and a little mild soap is gentler on the embroidery than a full machine wash. Let it dry flat.

Are Mima&Lulù⁷ bags licensed BTS merch?

No. They are fanmade, inspired by BTS and embroidered in Italy, and they are not affiliated with BTS, HYBE or BigHit Music.
