How to pick a costume people will actually recognise

A good BTS costume works on two levels: ARMY at the party should get it in a second, and everyone else should still see a fun outfit. The trick is to choose a moment with a strong visual identity, not just a member's name, and then add two or three details that point straight to it.

It also helps to think about the night itself. If you will be outside, at a crowded house party or walking between bars, a costume built on a hoodie or an oversized t-shirt beats a stiff rented suit. And if the base piece is something you love, you get to wear it long after October 31.

Daechwita: the Agust D king

In the Daechwita music video, Suga as Agust D plays a king in a Joseon-era setting, and it is one of the most quoted looks in the fandom. You do not need a full traditional robe to evoke it.

Start from a dark, roomy layer, add a wide sash or belt at the waist, a crown or a dark traditional-style hat made from cardboard and black paint, and slicked-back hair.
