BTS embroidered hat: caps, bucket hats and how to choose one
5 min read
A good BTS embroidered hat pairs a clear reference, such as your bias's name, a solo song or a fandom in-joke, with a shape you will actually wear: a baseball cap for everyday and sunny days, a bucket hat for a softer, more playful look. Check that the embroidery is dense and flat on the front panel, that the strap or size suits your head, and that the fabric is listed clearly.
Why a hat is the easiest BTS piece to wear
A hat is the quietest way to carry BTS with you. It goes with a coat in winter and a t-shirt in summer, it fits any outfit you already own, and the embroidery sits right at eye level, so other ARMY spot it on the train or in a queue long before they would notice a design on your back.
It is also one of the most affordable embroidered pieces, which makes it a natural first purchase, a birthday gift for a friend who is hard to buy for, or a small extra to add to a bigger order. And unlike a t-shirt, a hat has no size drama: most caps adjust to fit almost anyone.
Baseball cap or bucket hat?
The two shapes say different things, so choose the one that matches how you dress most days.
- Baseball cap: clean and sporty, with a stiff front panel that shows the embroidery off well. It works with jeans, joggers and a sweatshirt, keeps the sun out of your eyes and usually has an adjustable strap at the back.
- Bucket hat: softer and more playful, with a brim all the way round. It suits oversized looks, festival weekends and anyone who finds caps a bit too sporty. Fabric matters a lot here, because a bucket hat has no structure of its own.
- If you are buying for someone else and are unsure, a cap with an adjustable strap is the safer choice: it fits a wider range of heads.
Choosing the design: name, song or in-joke
On a hat there is room for one idea, so pick it carefully. A bias's name or a fan chant is instantly readable and works well on the front of a cap. A reference to a solo song or an era is more subtle and rewards the ARMY who know it, which is half the fun.
Think about who will see it, too. A small, tidy design is easy to wear to work or class every day. A bolder one is perfect for concerts, cupsleeve events and meetups, where the point is to be recognised. Either way, the best hats are the ones that tell people which member or era made you fall for BTS.
How to tell if the embroidery is well made
Embroidering a hat is harder than embroidering a flat t-shirt, because the front panel is curved and stiff. That is why it is worth looking closely at the photos before you buy. A few signs separate a hat that will last from one that will look tired after a month.
- The stitches are dense, so you cannot see the fabric underneath the filled areas.
- The design lies flat, without puckering or wrinkles around the edges.
- Small lettering is still readable and the letters are evenly spaced.
- The product page states the fabric, so you know whether it is cotton, polyester or corduroy.
- The shop shows real photos of the finished hat, not only a digital mockup.
Fit and care
For a cap, an adjustable strap does most of the work: check that the listing mentions one. For a bucket hat, look for measurements on the product page and compare them with a hat you already own.
Hats are not easy to wash, and a structured cap in particular can lose its shape in a washing machine. In general it is best to spot clean with cold water and a little mild soap, gently dab rather than scrub the embroidery, and let the hat air dry on a rounded shape, such as a rolled towel or a bowl, away from direct heat. Softer bucket hats can usually take a gentle hand wash in cool water. Keep hats out of the tumble dryer and never iron directly on the stitches.

FAQ
Is a baseball cap or a bucket hat better for a BTS design?
A baseball cap shows embroidery best thanks to its stiff front panel and suits everyday wear. A bucket hat is softer and more playful. For a gift, a cap with an adjustable strap is the safest choice.
Can you put an embroidered hat in the washing machine?
It is generally better not to, especially with structured caps. Spot clean with cold water and mild soap, then let it air dry on a rounded shape away from heat.
Are Mima&Lulù⁷ hats licensed BTS merch?
No. Our hats are fanmade, inspired by BTS and embroidered in Italy, and we are not affiliated with BTS, HYBE or BigHit Music.
How long does an embroidered hat take to arrive?
It is ready in about 7 days from payment confirmation, plus the courier time you choose at checkout.
